Estimates Only
All results produced by calculators on GeneratorSizingPro are estimates based on industry rules of thumb, regional averages, and publicly available data. They are not engineered load calculations, contractor bids, or guarantees of actual generator performance, installation cost, or fuel consumption.
Not Professional Advice
GeneratorSizingPro does not provide professional electrical engineering, contracting, legal, or financial advice. No information on this site should be used as a substitute for consulting a licensed electrician or generator installer. Transfer switch installation and any connection to your home's electrical panel must be performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local permitting requirements.
Safety Notice
Generators involve real electrical, fire, and carbon monoxide risks. Never operate a portable generator indoors, in a garage, or near windows/doors. Never connect a generator to your home's wiring without a properly installed transfer switch — backfeeding power onto utility lines can be lethal to utility workers and is illegal in most jurisdictions.
Accuracy
While we strive to use accurate formulas and current data, generator costs, fuel prices, and installation factors change over time and vary significantly by region. Actual results will vary based on specific equipment, installation conditions, local labor rates, and other factors not captured by any online calculator.
No Endorsement
References to specific brands, fuel types, or generator classes on this site are for informational purposes only and do not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of any specific manufacturer, installer, or product.
